The Closing Process-Real Estate Brokers
Many affordable housing units can only be purchased with the assistance of the real estate broker who has been given the listing of the property by the developer or seller of the dwelling. Some of these real estate brokers are experienced in helping the buyer through the qualification process with the different city and state agencies which may be involved. The brokers are usually, if not always, paid by the developer or seller.
Many other affordable housing units can be purchased through city or town agencies which are well-equipped to handle such matters.
Occasionally, developers and sellers will handle the listing, the showing and the eligibility and qualification process through their own staff.
